Great Bay History The Great Bay - Mullica River water shed is a vast pristine resource for the southern New Jersey fisherman. It comprises of some 156,000 acres of terrestrial,wetlands and aquatic habitat. In 1998 the area was renamed the Jaques Cousteau National Estuarine Reserve. Although he never visited the waters of Great Bay, his work is carried on by the Rutgers University Marine Research Division. |
